Soybeans were higher on short covering and technical buying, recovering some of the recent losses. The USDA says planting and emergence are still slow, but nearing completion, and while just 53% of the crop is rated good to excellent, conditions could improve if weather cooperates. The trade expects at least some change in acreage numbers, either this month or next month. Beans are also waiting for the resumption of trade talks with China later this week.
