An agronomist says recent hot, dry weather is speeding up the pace of corn silage harvest in the Eastern Corn Belt.
“When we have this type of weather, the corn tends to dry faster than we can get it in the bunk.”
Charles Scovill with Golden Harvest Seeds tells Brownfield challenging growing conditions have made a dent in available feed for dairy farmers and average to below average silage yields will not help.
