Heavy rainfall across much of Michigan was good for some
crops while the condition of others remains poor.
The USDA says the state’s corn crop condition is 42 percent
good to excellent with 80 percent in the dough stage, 41 percent dented and 3
percent mature.
Soybeans are 92 percent setting pods, 17 percent dropping
leaves and condition is 41 percent good to excellent.
Dry Beans are 57 percent good to excellent
while sugarbeets are 65 percent. Some
farmers started corn silage harvest on immature fields.
