Cost of trade relief aid could triple if available for others

An analysis by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce says the cost of the Trump administration’s aid package for farmers could be more than three times the amount announced when accounting for other sectors.

The Chamber says the total cost in addition to the $12 billion that’s been earmarked for agriculture could reach $39 billion when accounting for all manufacturers, fisherman and farmers negatively impacted by the Trump administration’s steel and aluminum tariffs.
