County health board holds off CAFO ordinance while suit decided

The Moniteau County Health Board will wait for the outcome of

pending legal action before deciding whether to enact a concentrated animal

feeding operation ordinance. Board President James Canter told Brownfield

Monday the outcome of the suit opposing Senate Bill 391 will help the board

decide what to do next.

“We will have to be in compliance with [the Missouri Department of Natural Resources]

regardless of when we take any action, if we take any action,” Caner told

Brownfield Ag News Monday following a very meeting in California, Missouri.
