An agronomist based in southern Minnesota fears most crops in
his area won’t finish if a frost occurs this week.
Dan Kohler with Asgrow/Dekalb says a challenging spring limited the acres planted in April and early May.
“I’m not one to predict weather, but if we were to get a frost this week we would be hurting the yield potential of those acres that were planted towards the later part of May and into June.”
He tells Brownfield crops planted before that appear to be reaching maturity.
