A National Milk Producers Federation official says the list of 696 U.S. products granted tariff waivers by the Chinese is missing several dairy products. Jaime Castaneda tells Brownfield, “The list included powders and included other products, but particularly, the missing obvious one was cheese, however, that doesn’t mean that there cannot be a request by manufacturers or buyers in China to include that product into the waiver.”
Castaneda says China granted waivers for milk and cream, whey, lactose, and infant formula but that leaves a lot of potential dairy products without access to the Chinese market.
