Details could make all the difference when handling grain this fall

An extension grain handling specialist says the details will really matter this fall. 

Dr. Charles Hurburgh at Iowa State University says crops are probably going to be harvested wetter than normal because of delayed planting this spring.

“Therefore, we will get variability in the wetter ground versus the higher, sandier soils. We’ll have in-field variability, there’s no doubt about that.”

He tells Brownfield grain dryers won’t completely even out
moisture, but dryers that mix the grain are more effective.
