A University of Wisconsin weed scientist says their research is showing how important it is to follow the label guidelines when using dicamba.
Dr. Rodrigo Werle tells Brownfield his Wisconsin team is working with researchers at universities including Nebraska and Purdue to document what happens to non-dicamba beans when the technology is applied nearby and off-label. “We put samplers out there to collect and measure particle drift but we also have air samplers that are collecting vapor drift there in the center of the study, so we’re collecting an extensive amount of data from this trial here.”
The nearly 30-acre test used Extend soybeans in the middle of the field surrounded by about 20 acres of dicamba-sensitive soybeans.
