Digital dairy efforts reaching more students

The United Dairy Industry of Michigan says 2021’s transitional year of virtual and in-person outreach will continue this year.

Industry relations director Jolene Griffin tells Brownfield efforts to better reach consumers and students online were strengthened throughout the pandemic with more than 65,000 combined virtual visitors accessing farm tours and the new Adopt-a-Cow program in schools last year.

Modeled after a program started by the Center for Dairy Excellence, the Adopt-A-Cow program this year is following the life of four dairy calves on a northern Michigan farm.
