Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were higher, supported by the light, but higher than a week ago, direct cash business that developed during the session and the recent mostly sharply higher trend in the wholesale market. Still, Choice beef is showing some signs of faltering around these price levels, closing weak on Wednesday. The cattle industry is also watching the weather, with less wet, but colder conditions in most forecasts heading into November. October was up $.02 at $113.37 and December was $1.47 higher at $118.30.
