
Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were mostly higher on spread trade, the higher midday boxed beef, and traders preparing for the week’s widespread direct business. April was down $.30 at $129.55 and June was up $.27 at $120.42.
Feeder cattle were mostly lower ahead of widespread direct trade. March was down $1.65 at $141.22 and April was $1.10 lower at $145.05.
Direct cash cattle business in the north was moderate by early Friday afternoon mostly at $205 dressed in Nebraska and Iowa, $3 higher than the previous week.
