The comprehensive disaster aid bill that passed the Senate Thursday failed today in the U.S. House by one vote. Republican Congressman Chip Roy of Texas said the bill does not contain anything, in his words, “to address the clear national emergency and humanitarian crisis” at the southern border. The $19 Billion dollar package would be used to rebuild and repair infrastructure in areas affected by flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires. It reportedly has been tabled until at least next week with another vote possible the week of June 3rd.
