Two decades of water quality research in the Upper Midwest
has culminated in the first-ever Discovery Farms Summit.
University of Wisconsin Discovery Farms co-director Amber Radatz says the farmer-led program started in Wisconsin and Minnesota twenty years ago.
“We’ve done a really good job on research that’s related to how to continue conservation and saving soil. We’ve done that mostly from a production standpoint.”
She says examples of that are reduced tillage and more efficient nutrient management.
