Dry July for a MO farmer

A western Missouri farmer says his crop development is speeding up with the lack of moisture.

“The corn definitely needs a drink, but it’s not going to get that so, I guess, it is what it is,” said Jared Mershon.

He tells Brownfield his area could go more than a month without rainfall.

“We just missed the last rain, and it doesn’t look like there’s any more rain chances for maybe the rest of July, and our last rain came on July 3rd,” Mershon said.
