With about a week to go before Reid Vapor Pressure regulations restrict higher blends of ethanol for the summer, the American Coalition for Ethanol remains confident the EPA will have the new E15 rule in place by June first. ACE CEO Brian Jennings says he continues to hear positive signals from Capitol Hill. “All I can say is that we’ve been in touch with some of our champions who have been in contact with EPA, and what we are hearing is that EPA is on schedule to get the rule done to allow E15 to be used year-round by May 31st.” Jennings says current law handcuffs many gas station owners who want to offer E15 year-round because it is cleaner and typically costs less than gasoline.
