Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or above-normal temperatures and rainfall across most of the country. The eastern Corn Belt has the greatest likelihood of experiencing above-normal temperatures, while cooler-than-normal conditions will be mostly confined to the northern High Plains and the Northwest.
Meanwhile, drier-than-normal weather should be limited to much of the eastern U.S., including the middle and northern Atlantic States, as well as portions of the Great Basin and Intermountain West.
