An eastern Iowa farmer says he has high expectations for the 2023 growing season.
Logan Lyon raises corn, soybeans, and cattle in Muscatine and Scott Counties.
“We had phenomenal weather conditions throughout the summer and into the fall,” he said. “We had record-breaking crops in this part of the state.”
He tells Brownfield he’s hopeful that margins improve.
“The best thing to do with strong prices is get a good yield behind it,” Lyon said, “and hopefully have another year to farm and keep moving forward.”
Lyon says his area has received significantly more moisture than the western third of Iowa over the last 12 months.
