A program designed to educate grade-school students about where their food comes from is in its 12th year. The Ag Sack Lunch program is available to fourth-grade students in in Nebraska.
Emily Zimmer, Ag Ambassador with the program, says it’s important to increase agricultural awareness among children.
The in-person version of the program is offered to classes visitng the State Capital Building in Lincoln as part of their curriculum. Although in-person events are filling up, classrooms are able to reach out and reserve virtual events for their students.
