EPA seeks farmers and rural youth

The EPA is seeking 20 to 30 nominees to serve on its Farm, Ranch and Rural Communities Advisory Committee.

Tate Bennett, agriculture advisor to the EPA Administrator, tells Brownfield Ag News it’s a great opportunity for farmers, ranchers and those related to agriculture, “It’s a wonderful way for the agricultural community to get involved with learning more and weighing in on EPA policy.” The deadline to apply is December 31st.

The EPA is also looking for nominees for the 2020 Presidential Environmental Youth Awards and Bennett encourages young people in  rural America to apply, “Whether it’s on composting, food waste reduction, how to manage pollinators, conservation practices, water quality – just projects that resonate more, whether it’s with 4H or FFA.” The deadline to apply is January 15th.
