EPA’s Wheeler looks for changes to Renewable Fuel Standard

The acting administrator of the EPA says he will pursue changes to the Renewable Fuel Standard.  Andrew Wheeler told reporters EPA needs to look at ways to change the program, which is getting criticism from both oil and biofuel interests.  He also says the two sides need to reach an agreement because he does not want to implement “piecemeal parts of a deal.”

The biofuels industry is pushing for an end to refinery blending waivers which total 48 since 2016 and have reduced demand for more than two billion gallons of biofuels.
