Ethanol supporters are calling on the Environmental Protection Agency to issue an emergency waiver that would allow E15 sales this summer.
Geoff Cooper, President and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association, says the EPA still has time to take action.
“The administration has the experience of last year to fall back on,” he said. “Last year, they issued emergency waivers and allowed the continued sale of E15 throughout the summer. It delivered real results and they know that.”
The EPA’s proposed rule would delay year-round sales until 2024.
