Ethanol production holds on week, year

U.S. ethanol production was steady last week while the domestic supply tightened.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.003 million barrels a day, which was also unchanged from a year ago and up 7% from the five-year average.

Iowa State University’s Center for Agricultural and Rural Development says returns for the average Iowa plant held on the week in modestly positive territory.

Ethanol stocks of 25.136 million barrels were 391,000 under last week and 767,000 below last year.
