U.S. ethanol production was slightly lower the week before Christmas, while stocks dropped.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.042 million barrels a day, 4,000 lower than the week before and the lowest weekly average in more than a month, as some producers slow down or eliminate shifts because of poor margins. The industry continues to wait for more details on year-round E15 implementation and signs of new export demand.
