U.S. ethanol stocks hit a record high last week.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration says the supply of 24.468 million barrels was up 779,000 on the week, even with blending demand running ahead of year ago levels, as the industry continues to struggle with margins and wait for an EPA decision on small refinery waivers.
Average production was down for the second week in a row at 1.031 million barrels a day, a decline of 8,000, for the lowest daily average since April.
