An Extension agronomist in Nebraska says flood damage to farmland in his area is extensive.
Nathan Mueller covers Dodge and Washington counties in east-central Nebraska. “Dodge and Washington are heavy in terms of acres in flood plains,” Mueller says. “For example, just in Dodge County, that’s about 176-thousand acres. Over half the acres have some type of flood damage.”
Mueller says a lot of work will have to be done to get those fields ready for planting this spring.
