Farm Bureau members consider policy on ‘forever chemicals’

A farmer from eastern South Dakota says delegates at the American Farm Bureau Federation will consider policy to eliminate liability for farmers and ag retailers who apply ‘forever chemicals’ unknowingly on their farms.

“We don’t want landowners to be responsible for that if that gets spread onto their fields, because it would condemn their land.”

Jeffery Gatzke, the current vice-president of South Dakota Farm Bureau, is participating in today’s policy session at the convention.
