A farm management analyst believes farmers will receive a
third Market Facilitation Program payment early in 2020.
Kent Thiesse with MinnStar Bank in south-central Minnesota says people in the know seem to be optimistic about more trade aid.
“Some folks have said if they get this trade agreement (done) with China, and potentially USMCA we don’t need it. I would say that would be more of an argument not to have MFP payments for 2020 than the last payment for ’19.”
He tells Brownfield MFP has helped keep many farms afloat during a challenging year.
