A network of volunteers is offering assistance to farmers in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa who were impacted by a recent outbreak of tornadoes.

Dan Erdmann, marketing program manager for Farm Rescue, says their group wants to remind farm families that additional help is available.

“We try to spring into action wherever that help is needed. If someone’s in the midst of planting season, they still have some acres that they need to get in the ground, and if there was equipment damaged, we just want folks to know that that we’re here to help.”

Founded in 2005, Farm Rescue is a non-profit organization that helps farmers and ranchers who have experienced a major illness, injury, or natural disaster by providing the necessary equipment and volunteer workforce to plant, hay or harvest their crop.
