The farm-to-school food movement keeps gaining speed in Minnesota.
Kate Seybold with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture says school districts turned to locally produced foods during the pandemic.
“A lot of the products that they were buying kind of nationally would be getting delayed or just not showing up, but we had many schools share how buying Minnesota turkey or Minnesota produce, they always had that food available.”
She tells Brownfield more and more schools are recognizing the benefits of a short supply chain.
