A southern Illinois farmer says he planted all his corn in about 10 days.
Matt Rush tells Brownfield it was a very different spring than last year because of excess moisture.
“Last year we finished planting corn on April 27th,” he said. “This year, we didn’t start planting corn until the second week in May.”
Despite the late planting, the Fairfield farmer said emergence has been outstanding.
“The days that we were planting it was 90 degrees outside it felt like,” Rush said.
