A central Illinois farmer is pleased with corn harvest so far but expects to hear a wide range of yields in his area.
Marty Marr tells Brownfield there was a lot of harvest progress in Sangamon and Morgan counties last week with corn drying down between 17-21% moisture.
“I think we are going to hear yields all over the board. I think we will hear some really outstanding yields 250 and above but you are also going to hear some below 200 in those fields that got hurt by excessive wet weather, but overall, we are looking at some pretty good yields at the end of the day.”
He says three weeks of wet weather took its toll on flatter areas that did not drain well.
