Like many farmers in the Midwest who haven’t wrapped up harvest yet, Sarah Delbecq says it’s now a waiting game to get back in the field.
The northeastern Indiana grower says wet and cold conditions have kept her out of the field.
“The opportunities to dry out have been few and far between,” she says. “Now we’re finding ourselves not only watching the weather forecast, to hope it doesn’t rain, or snow, or ice, but also hoping it gets cold enough that we can get the ground to freeze because we don’t want to go out make a ton of ruts.”
She tells Brownfield she has about 600 acres left to harvest.
