Farmer says tired of being a pawn

A soybean farmer says she’s frustrated commodities are being used as pawns in political negotiations.

“I shouldn’t be surprised, but it seems slightly ironic a tweet from the President can cause a 20-cent change in the grain market.”

Laurie Isley farms near the Michigan/Ohio border and serves on the U.S. Soybean Export Council. She tells Brownfield farmers need stability in the marketplace and the on-again, off-again trade negotiations between the U.S.
