Farmers are facing record planting delays, and some are turning to prevent plant. Jamie Mason grows corn and soybeans in Sullivan, Indiana. “Like everywhere else we’ve been very wet- the wettest season on record,” he says. Mason says he took the prevent plant option on some acres. “We made the decision coming into June 5th, looking at the long range forecast and where we were going to be,” he says. “Luckily we were properly insured which has really helped.” He says the second round of market facilitation program payments is also top of mind.
