A leading ag input supplier is busy taking orders as farmers prepare for the upcoming growing season.
CHS agronomy production manager Tim Swanson says growers are looking to lock in fertilizer, seed, and chemicals amid price and availability concerns.
“We do see a lot more products being taken earlier (as farmers) just kind of manage through to work out their farm plan. What’s their opportunities, balance that all out (and) make wise decisions, and in a lot of cases have contingency plans or alternative products or procedures that we can use to make sure that we succeed again in 2023.”
He tells Brownfield a lot of fertilizer was applied in the fall which should ease bottlenecks in the spring.
