President Trump’s announcement on tariffs and Chinese ag purchases has given farmers including Dave Bechel of Elmwood, Wisconsin some hope. He says, “I’m just hoping that it turns around because some days, I feel like I’m just hanging on by a thread.”
John Krings has farmed all of his life near Plum City, Wisconsin, and he says the impact on commodity prices has a ripple effect. He tells Brownfield, “I’m also a seed dealer and hey, farmers have got to make money or they can’t pay me for the seed.”
Randy Kuehl from Kewaunee County says the apparent Trump-Xi agreement to negotiate is what farmers need.
