An independent agronomist anticipates another year of crop farmers
pinching inputs.
Nate Firle, owner and chief agronomist for southern Minnesota-based Ag Revival, says most of the growers he works with are making cost savings a bigger priority.
“There’s a big percentage swing going to non-GMO or single-trait corn, and it (leads) to a big decision now. The amount of fertilizer, the form of fertilizer. This year more than any in my career it’s been down to the penny making those decisions.”
He tells Brownfield fewer inputs means increased management.
