These are trying times for many farmers.
April Hemmes, who farms near Hampton in northcentral Iowa, says she’s trying to stay positive despite the many uncertainties facing agriculture in 2019.
“I’m optimistic, because that’s what farmers are,” Hemmes says. “We’re looking at the planting season, what we’re going to do, and getting equipment ready—and hopefully all these other things that are going on in the background will get themselves worked out.”
But Gary Campbell of Eagleville, Missouri tells Brownfield he’s having trouble getting excited about the upcoming season.
