A Missouri man has been sentenced
to two years in prison for his role in an organic grain fraud scheme that also
involved another Missouri man and three Nebraska farmers.
John Burton of Clarksdale, Missouri
pleaded guilty this spring to conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
Burton raised grain that he sold to
Randy Constant of Livingston County, Missouri that wasn’t organically grown.
Constant was given 10 years in prison for the scheme but committed suicide
shortly after his sentencing in August.
