The combination of melting snow and recent rains continues
to wreak havoc on many Midwestern farms.
Lawrence Sukalski says about a dozen roads in south-central Minnesota have been closed off because of flood waters.
“We still have a lot of culverts plugged up, so water is going over the roads. We’re able to pass through a bunch of them, but if the tiles don’t open up (and)the rest of the culverts don’t open soon, we’ll probably have to close a few more roads down.”
The Martin County farmer tells Brownfield the flooding in Minnesota is minor compared to what’s happening in Nebraska and western Iowa.
