Japanese beetles have been emerging in Missouri for the past
two weeks and are expected to reach peak emergence next week.
Kevin Rice with the University of Missouri says the flooding in Missouri shouldn’t be a factor, “Unfortunately, we don’t think that the floods are going to have a dramatic effect on the overall population.”
Rice says the late planting of corn and soybeans, though,
will put those crops at greater risk from Japanese beetles.
