It’s been another challenging season for controlling weeds on many farms.
North central Iowa corn and soybean grower Brent Renner says spring weather seemed to be more conducive to weed growth.
“When it was cool and dry and we were trying to get soybeans to go, it seemed like they wouldn’t but the weeds would grow six inches a day for a week. And before you know it you’ve got issues that need to be dealt with.”
He tells Brownfield giant ragweed has been especially troublesome.
