Governors sign Missouri River management MOA

The governors of Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska signed an agreement over the weekend saying the states will enhance and promote cooperation to improve flood recovery and future flood control in the Lower Missouri River Basin.

In the memorandum of understanding, the four governors say

they will direct their respective agencies to, among other things, “identify

areas of joint study to improve flood recovery and flood control to mitigate

impacts of future weather-related events.” The agreement says, “Many people

rely on the effective and predictable operation of the Missouri River by the
