Grain exports create billions in additional economic activity

A new report finds every dollar of U.S. grain exported in 2016 supported an additional $2.20 in economic activity.

Grain exports in 2016 were

valued at $55 billion and supported more than 270,000 jobs. The report by Informa

Agribusiness Consulting says grain exports led to nearly $38 billion in additional

business sales beyond the value of the commodities.

The study was commissioned by the U.S. Grains Council and the National Corn Growers Association.
