Grassley calls for legislative fix to muddy WOTUS rule

A cosponsor of a bill in the U.S. Senate says the legislation would address government overreach under the Waters of the U.S. Rule.

Iowa Republican Chuck Grassley is referring to the Define WOTUS Act that was introduced by Indiana Republican Mike Braun in June of 2021.

He says EPA’s revised rule announced this week is further proof Congress must take action.

“Otherwise, one day landowners could wake up to steep fines for simply moving dirt on their own land without Uncle Sam’s permission.”

He says the Define WOTUS Act codifies a clear, sensible definition of Waters of the U.S.
