Grassley concerned about ag impact of Baltimore bridge collapse

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley is concerned about the impact the Baltimore bridge collapse will have on agriculture.

The Iowa Republican tells Brownfield it’s a very important port.

“And I’m sure we’re soon going to be seeing figures on the impact on the economy. But both for exports and for imports, it’s going to be a problem.”

He says the movement of farm machinery could be affected.

“Some of that could be made in Waterloo, Iowa, or maybe throughout the Midwest.”

Grassley says indications are rebuilding the bridge won’t cause further disruptions at the Port of Baltimore.
