U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley says the Cattle Price Discovery and Transparency Act could face a difficult path forward in the 118th Congress.
“I believe the chairman of the House Agriculture has expressed some opposition to it,” he said Tuesday morning.
But, the Iowa Republican tells Brownfield there are other ways to try and get the legislation passed. “I think it would be something worthy to bring up during the discussion of the farm bill if can’t move separately.”
Grassley says the bill would help restore transparency and accountability in the cattle markets by establishing regional cash minimums and equipping producers with additional market information.
