Grassley talks farm bill timing as possibility of extension grows

The possibility of a one-year extension grows as farm bill negotiations run deeper into the summer.

On a call with reporters this morning, Iowa U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley said he asked Senate Ag Committee chair Debbie Stabenow about timing right before the July 4th recess.

“She thought we might not get the bill done by September 30th, which is the deadline. But we would get it done before the end of the year.
