Many farmers in Northwest Missouri won’t get any income from 2019 crops this year because of flooding. Congressman Sam Graves, who’s from Tarkio, Missouri, says he has heard from many farmers who won’t be able to plant, “You erase a year’s worth of income. What do you do? You want to talk about stress and frustration? You know, that’s what you hear.”
Graves says older farmers might
have enough savings to get through but not younger farmers, “Machinery payments
continue, the farm payments continue, the house payment continues, regardless
of whether or not you have income or not.
